New Poem: Papatūānuku

She, who is within me, as I am her

She, who whispers sweet nothings in my ear

Her song sung by many, and heard by all

Her roots firmly planted within the Earth that she embodies,

And her arms which extend their loving embrace,

Like a blanket of warmth

Her fury is unrelenting

But yet, her voice caresses my very being

And despite the chaos that she creates

As though she were a child herself throwing a tantrum

Her plead for forgiveness is like an arc

That forms itself within the clear blue skies

She, who blossoms and grows

As she sways to and fro

Standing strong and tall

Although her body creaks and moans

And so,

She, who is within me, as I am her

She, that is Papatūānuku,

Who forever is, and will always be.
